Modern Slavery Statement

SOS Group Services Ltd is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, servitude, and forced or compulsory labour in all their forms.

This statement is published pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the preventative actions undertaken across our civil engineering, drainage, groundwork, and facilities management operations.

Operating from our Solihull headquarters and depot since 1977, SOS Group Services provides multi-disciplinary contracting to municipal local authorities, healthcare trusts, commercial facilities managers, and private residential estates across the UK.

Our core risk mitigation strategy against modern slavery is our direct employment model. The vast majority of our tradespeople, plant machine operators, and drainage technicians are directly employed and vetted in-house, eliminating the risks associated with multi-tiered casual agency labour.

We maintain strict employment and recruitment verification procedures:

• Right to Work Checks: Rigorous pre-employment verification of all candidates' legal right to work in the UK, identity documents, and national insurance credentials before employment commences.
• Fair Remuneration: All operatives are paid directly into personal bank accounts at rates that meet or exceed the UK National Living Wage, with full statutory holiday, sick pay, and pension entitlements.
• DBS Clearance: Operatives deployed to school frameworks, vulnerable residential housing, and civic buildings undergo Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) vetting.

Where we procure materials (concrete, aggregate, MDPE piping, high-pressure jetting units) or engage specialist sub-tier contractors, we demand strict alignment with our ethical code of conduct.

• We partner with reputable, UK-based material suppliers who certify adherence to ethical labor standards.
• All sub-tier contractors must provide confirmation of legal employment practices and undergo CHAS / SafeContractor health and safety audits.
• Any identified breach of modern slavery standards results in immediate termination of the commercial relationship.

We encourage all employees, clients, and suppliers to report any concerns or suspicions of unethical behavior, exploitation, or modern slavery. Reports can be submitted confidentially to our senior management team or directly via the UK Modern Slavery Helpline (08000 121 700).

This statement is reviewed annually by the Board of Directors and is approved as representing our continued commitment to ethical contracting.
